Coked-up Ham w/ Brown Sugar and Mustard Rub

7 lb. ham

2 3ltr. colas

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 Tbsp whole grain mustard

Whole Cloves

This recipe yields about 10 – 12 servings

You will need to reserve at least two to three days to marinate the ham in the cola. It is ok to marinate the ham while it’s frozen. The cola will help it thaw. Pour cola into a large deep pot, large enough to fit the ham. Put the ham into the cola, put the lid on and stick it in the fridge for two to three days. You may need to turn the ham if the cola didn’t cover the ham completely. Take the ham out of the marinade and place it flat side down in a roasting pan. Pierce the ham all over with the cloves. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and mustard until thoroughly combined. Using a spatula, the back of a spoon or a butter knife, spread the mixture all over the ham. Cover ham with aluminum foil. Bake for 25 mins. per lb. In this case, a 7 lb. ham will need to cook for 3 – 3 1/2 hrs. Bast the ham every hour. When it’s done cooking, let it sit for about 20 mins. before cutting.
