Saffron Jasmine Rice

Pinch of Saffron
1 cup Jasmine Rice
1 ½ cup hot water
1 Tbsp Coconut oil
Pinch Sea Salt

In a sauce pan, melt coconut oil over a medium high flame. Add Saffron, salt and rice. Toss the rice in the oil until it turns a slight golden color. You basically want to toast the rice. Add the hot water to the pot. BE CAREFUL!! The water will pop like hot grease so make sure you pour slowly, stand back and protect your hands when you add the water to the pot. Turn the flame down to low, cover and let the rice cook without stirring for at least 15 mins. Check the rice for tenderness, if it’s still a little hard, let it cook for another 5-7 mins. or until the rice is fluffy and tender. Add a little more water if needed.

Heads up! This is a great way to cook every kind of rice. Except for instant. I don’t use instant so I’ve never tried it on that. I used to be theee WORSE at cooking rice until I adopted this method that I stole from the Rice A Roni cooking instructions. I promise you will get perfect rice each and every time.
